This is something I find very significant: An aide came to work here who I found I like, and it was clear she likes me. He name is Kinsey; I kept thinking of her as Lynn, a young woman I knew as a teenager and later in College. I felt I could "cross the barrier" that keeps staff from being "friendly" but not friends.

What happened right now, today, is what's most important. We were having a talk while she was doing a one-ne-ne with a resident who has to be constantly watched. I got to talking about how apathetic people are here. I  said residents insists our concerns are "personal" and problems can be solved only by elites. (This can be seen in some ways here at the institutional level because it is very hierarchical in the way it is structured.).
